Internship in Simulation and Model Reduction
Aufgaben:
During your internship, you will perform CFD and FEA simulations for turbomachinery and static equipment. You will develop and implement machine learning algorithms to speed up simulations and integrate these algorithms into existing simulation workflows. Furthermore, you will automate the simulation workflow through scripting and code development. You will understand and contribute to the creation of an automated workflow for creating virtual sensors and hybrid models that combine CFD/FEA simulations. Moreover, you will develop and implement Reduced Order Models (ROMs) for turbomachinery components and systems. You will integrate ROMs into a digital twin framework for real-time simulation. Additionally, you will analyze and validate ROM performance against high-fidelity simulations and experimental data as well as analyze and evaluate the performance of the accelerated simulations. Finally, you will create Functional Mockup Units (FMUs) of critical components to enable co-simulation.
Qualifikationen:
Education: studies in Mechanical Engineering, Computational Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or comparable Experience and Knowledge: strong understanding of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA), proficiency in Python programming, experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), working knowledge of at least one numerical simulation software package, such as ANSYS, COMSOL or OpenFOAM Personality and Working Practice: team-minded and reliable Enthusiasm: enjoys working in an interdisciplinary team, interest in an agile start-up environment Languages: fluent in English, German is a plus
