Tasks & Responsibilities

Qualifications
- Ongoing advanced studies (Bachelor or Master) in economics, sociology, or data science

- Experience with programming (e.g., Python, R, or Stata) for quantitative research
- A high level of precision, especially when handling data and texts
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to present complex content in both English and German
- An efficient, independent, and reliable working style, combined with a strong team spirit and the drive to meet high expectations

- Based on the FWF salary scheme for student assistants, the salary amounts to € 1,207.15 gross per month for an exemplary 17.5-hour week, paid 14 times per year. The precise hours are negotiable and can be adapted to your studies.
The position is within the research group Social Cohesion and Polarization. This group analyzes how inequalities arise and how they can be effectively countered. As a student assistant, you will support its ongoing applied research and policy consulting projects. Under the guidance of experienced researchers, your work will focus on issues such as social policy design and evaluation, migration and integration, or means to promote inclusion and fight inequality.
The initial contract period is 12 months, with the possibility of an extension (a maximum of two years in total). IHS is an equal opportunity employer.
