Biomedical scientist (f/m/d)
The fulltime position (38,5 hours / week) starts at 1st June 2024, initially limited for 1 year with option of prolongation. We are searching for a biomedical researcher with a strong focus and interest in kidney diseases. The overall goal of our group is to contribute to the understanding of the mechanisms of kidney diseases. We have a strong focus on developing and applying novel pre-clinical methods to improve the diagnosis of kidney disease and guide new therapies. Our research is among others embedded within the ERC consolidator grant (AIM.imaging.CKD) and the large consortium InteraKD - Integrating emerging methods to advance translational kidney research (https://www.interakd.de/). We are a young interdisciplinary team of biologists, medical doctors (nephrologists and pathologists), and computer scientists motivated to improve kidney health care through basic and translational research. Our research is open-minded and involves a broad spectrum of well-established methods, including a large number of transgenic mice and disease models, cell culture, broad molecular detection methods, advanced histology and morpho-molecular analysis with AI-augmented morphometry and big data analysis (next generation morphometry and pathomics). In addition, we are exploring novel imaging methods, including highly multiplexed IF and non-invasive techniques, and are open to any new approaches.
