Master Thesis in Multi-Scale Data Analysis of Surface Topography

Knowledge of surface topography is indispensable for new advancements of technology. A multi-laboratory study involving over 60 labs has generated a collection of surface topography data, and the first report of the study has been published (see contact.engineering). The data is accessible to the public and includes the measurement results obtained using various methods (e.g. optical and stylus) and resolutions, probes and scales. Education: Master studies in the field of Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Engineering, Physical Engineering or comparable Experience and Knowledge: very good in MATLAB or Python for data analysis; knowledge of surface analysis is beneficial Personality and Working Practice : you are a motivated person with an interest in scientific work within industry Languages: very good in English
