Ihre Aufgaben:
Shape the future of aviation with us today and join us as: Research Scientist (m/f/d) in the field of Operations Research, Mathematics or Aerospace Engineering Future Airline Networks, Aircraft Fleet Developments and Operations towards Climate Neutrality Full-time | Fixed-Term Our challenges: Understanding social trends, technological-driven changes, ecological, economic and political developments with the expected impact on mobility and aviation Developing plausible but also disruptive futures of aviation by applying, e.g., scenario and trend techniques Early detection of changes in airline market structures and novel business opportunities within the mobility sector Translating aviation futures into tangible changes and requirements for (aviation) stakeholders Identification and assessment of efficiency improvements on airline operations and network level, supporting aviation`s pathways towards climate neutrality Appropriate utilization of methods and tools (e.g. scenario studies, strategy frameworks, meta-analyses, surveys, or data analytics) to derive qualitative and quantitative assessments Active contribution within working groups on national and EU-levels with a focus of user-centric mobility and airline operations What to expect: International team with a high qualification level Acknowledged research institution - with our feet on the ground and our thoughts in the air Interdisciplinary cooperation of engineers, natural and social scientists Modern working environment on the Ludwig Bölkow Campus in Taufkirchen near Munich A team-oriented working culture Flat hierarchies and short communication paths Challenging tasks Varied, creative activities We need you because: You have successfully completed your M.Sc. and wish to obtain a PhD You bring scientific creativity in combination with quantitative analytical and programming skills to the team You are familiar with network modelling and you have proven that you can work your way into new topics Ideally you are already familiar with airline networks, aircraft fleet development and aircraft operations You are passionate about giving scientific answers to efficiency improvements on airline operations and network level You enjoy modelling, simulation and analysis of individual flights up to the global air transport system You are interested in multidisciplinary, target-oriented tasks within joint academic or industry projects You are proficient in German and English What we offer: Attractive salary package according to the public tariff system plus performance-oriented compensation Retirement Pension Plan Professional training (in-house and/or external seminars) Flexible Working Hours Subsidised canteen Occupational Health Management Company sports (football, running group) Parking Lot Good accessibility by public transport Home Office The position is to be filled immediately and initially fixed-term.
