Aufgaben:
Shape the future of aviation with us today and join us as: Research Scientist (m/f/d) in Physics, Chemistry or Material Science Electro- and Thermo-Chemical Technologies for a Climate-Friendly Aviation System Full-time | Fixed-Term Our challenges: Searching for the most promising technical options to achieve climate neutrality: evaluation of key performance parameters of future energy technologies for aviation Evaluation of electro- and thermochemical energy technologies, ecological and techno-economic criteria as well as other performance indicators Life-cycle analysis (LCA) based on process and system modelling of electrical energy systems (e.g. batteries), green hydrogen and/or thermo-chemical sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) from direct CO2 air capture (DAC) Holistic comparative evaluation of technologies and transition pathways to 100% renewable energy in aviation Communication of research results through journal publications, conferences and media channels We need you because: You have successfully completed your M.Sc. and wish to obtain a PhD You bring scientific creativity in combination with quantitative analytical and programming skills to the team You are familiar with sustainability aspects of renewable energy technologies and you have proven that you can work your way into new topics Ideally you are already familiar with life-cycle and/or cost analysis, production processes of batteries or synthetic fuels You enjoy future technology scouting and analysis of electrochemical technologies You are passionate about giving scientific answers to introducing renewable energy and fuels in aviation You are interested in multidisciplinary, target-oriented tasks within joint academic or industry projects You are proficient in German or English What to expect: International team with a high qualification level Acknowledged research institution - with our feet on the ground and our thoughts in the air Interdisciplinary cooperation of engineers, natural and social scientists Modern working environment on the Ludwig Bölkow Campus in Taufkirchen near Munich A team-oriented working culture Flat hierarchies and short communication paths Challenging tasks Versatile, creative activities Numerous opportunities to enhance and broaden your competencies What we offer: Attractive salary package according to the public tariff system plus performance-oriented compensation Retirement Pension Plan Professional training (in-house and/or external seminars) Flexible Working Hours Subsidised canteen Occupational Health Management Company sports (football, running group) Parking Lot Good accessibility by public transport Home Office The position is to be filled immediately and initially fixed-term.
