Working Student - Technical Business Analyst & Workflow Development (m/f/d)
(limited, part-time, 15-20h/week) Join our team at our location in Berlin – flexible working conditions available.
We are looking for a highly motivated working student to take a hands-on role in shaping and improving risk management and fraud prevention processes in a dynamic FinTech environment. You’ll support the design, implementation, and optimization of workflows on our risk platform, contribute to requirements engineering, and assist in integrating third-party APIs and machine learning models. This is a hands-on opportunity to help build and improve how risk and fraud prevention are designed and operated across our systems — combining analytical thinking with technical problem-solving in the payment domain.
Ideally, you're excited to continue your journey with us after graduation and grow into a full-time role within one of our product teams.
Key responsibilities and main tasks
- You will be part of an international cross-functional team with product managers, analysts, and engineers, working in an agile environment to develop innovative risk management and fraud prevention solutions.
- You support the business analysis process – from conceptualizing new features with stakeholders to assisting in technical solution design, defining acceptance criteria, and contributing to testing activities.
- You develop a solid understanding of the customer risk and fraud domain within our BNPL products and leverage that knowledge to support ongoing business and product initiatives.
- You help design and implement decision workflows and business logic on the workflow engine that forms the core of our risk decision platform in the e-commerce and payments space.
- You assist in integrating third-party APIs and machine learning models into our risk decisioning infrastructure.
- You contribute to continuous improvement through quality assurance, test automation, and documentation of developed solutions.
Skills and qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g. Computer Science, Business Informatics or similar), ideally with at least one year left in your studies.
- First hands-on experience from internships or student jobs – ideally in the tech, e-commerce, or payments domain.
- Programming skills in any language, preferably with first experience in backend development; knowledge of C# or JavaScript is a plus.
- Familiar with data analysis or processing (e.g. using SQL or Python), with an analytical mindset and a passion for problem-solving.
- Ideally, you’ve worked with modeling techniques like BPMN and have a basic understanding of modern APIs and machine learning, which you’re eager to deepen through real-world projects.
- A clear and proactive communicator who enjoys collaborating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English, German is a plus.
