- Within the scope of this master thesis, you will conduct an experimental investigation of laser parameter influence on topological modifications of silicon.
- You will perform a simulation-based evaluation of the optical impact of surface deformations.
- As part of your work, you will support the development of a process for the production of micro-optical components.
- Finally, you will carry out optical measurement of processed optical components.
Qualifications
- Education: Master studies in the field of Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering, or comparable
- Experience and Knowledge:
- fundamental physical understanding
- background in optics and measurement technology
- hands-on laboratory work
- familiarity with optical simulation tools (Zemax or similar)
- practical use of Matlab or Python
- involvement in the calculation of optical systems
- preferably exposure to laser material processing
- Personality and Working Practice: you are driven by clear goals, take ownership of your work, and stay motivated even when working independently
- Work Routine: on-site presence in both the office and the laboratory is required
- Languages: fluent in German and in English

Duration: 6 months
