Appointment date: as soon as possible Contract duration: 2+1 years Working hours: 100 percent of a full-time position Application deadline: 15.05.2024 The position will be at the newly found Research Center Trustworthy Data Science and Security. The RC Trust addresses the trustworthiness of intelligent systems in safety-critical applications. Its human-centered research approach covers the entire interdisciplinary research of trustworthy data analytics, explainable machine learning, and privacy-aware algorithms. In this Post-Doc you will be part of Nils Köbis' new lab on «The Human Understanding of Algorithms and Machines» and also work closely with Dr. Margarita Leib (Tilburg University) and Prof. Wilhelm Hofmann (Ruhr University Bochum). The project People interact increasingly with technology powered by artificial intelligence (AI). This project aims to explore people's perceptions of and interactions with AI-based systems in their daily lives. Utilizing experience sampling methods, we will gather real-time data on participants' thoughts, feelings, experiences, and behaviors as they encounter and interact with various forms of AI in their daily lives. This longitudinal approach will enable us to understand the nuanced dynamics of human-AI interaction and its implications for technology design and policy. Your main tasks Scientific collaboration and independent research in our research projects and experiments. You will contribute to gaining a better understanding of how emerging technologies shape people's thoughts and behavior with the eventual aim of informing the responsible design of such technology. For this purpose, you will work together with a team of experts who can guide you but also have the opportunity to develop your own research focus and supervise PhD students in their work. In addition, you will take on the implementation and execution of teaching and administrative tasks. Your profile Completed PhD in psychology or project-related fields such as business informatics, communication science, computer science, data science, economics, media studies, or other relevant fields.
