Professorship (W2) for Food Chemistry
Applicants should be internationally renowned with a strong background in food chemistry, preferably with a focus on instrumental analytics and/or in related areas of life science/toxicology. Applicants should demonstrate successful third-party funding and an excellent publication record in line with his or her academic age. The research area should complement the current research focus of the Institute of Nutritional Science on «Molecular Mechanisms of Nutrition-Dependent Homeostasis and Dysfunction.» Ideally, the research area should enable collaborations with the Leibniz Institute 'German Institute for Human Nutrition (DIfE)' and with the Institutes for Chemistry as well as Biochemistry & Biology at the University of Potsdam. Leadership experience and experience in the coordination of research projects is desirable but not a requirement. With respect to academic teaching, the successful candidate should be able to fully cover the syllabus of the subject of food chemistry and food safety in the bachelor's and master's degree programs in Nutritional Science and in the international master's degree program, 'Master of Toxicology.' Founded in 1991, the University of Potsdam has firmly established itself in the scientific landscape and has become an outstanding economic factor and development engine for the region. It has a high level of third-party funding, has won several awards for teaching, and has a service-oriented administration and has received several awards for being family-friendly.
