Job description The SCC is a central scientific institution of KIT in connection with tasks in research, teaching, and innovation and performs overarching services within KIT and for external parties. The department Data Analytics, Access and Applications (D3A) is responsible for federated access methods for distributed storage and cloud services, the development and application of scalable tools for Data Analytics and Machine Learning, joint research and development with domain scientists, contributions to the European Open Science Cloud and the integration of research communities in the context of several EU projects. In the context of the international research project »Imaging data and services for aquatic science«, we collaborate with partners across Europe to consult scientists on high-performance image analysis tools empowered with Artificial Intelligence (AI). A focus lies on the Deep Learning platform that we provide and enhance. Your responsibilities will include: Support and enhancement of the Platform Providing Best Practices for the users Support of users in integrating Platform solutions for AI/ML/DL-based image analysis but also on the Deep Learning techniques Personal qualification Required Skills Diploma / Master in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience Analytical abilities and a strong ability to think creatively when approaching issues Programming experience in Python Experience with one of the Deep Learning frameworks (e.g. Tensorflow, PyTorch) Practical knowledge of Linux distributions Fluent verbal presentation and writing skills in English Desired Skills Already supported user communities Practical knowledge of Docker, Cloud, HPC, software testing Experience in AI/ML/DL-based image analysis Experience with Identity and Access management, e.g. OpenID Connect Additional programming and scripting languages The SCC allows you to work in an exciting and diverse environment within an international and diverse environment - in terms of scientific and geographical background, expertise and languages (people at SCC have more than 20 nationalities), age and gender.
