Software Engineer (m/f/d) Autonomous Vehicles Localization & ML in the CARISSMA Institute of Automated Driving (C-IAD)

The CARISSMA Institute of Automated Driving (C-IAD) focuses on the development, testing and validation of automated driving functions to improve road safety. For more information, please visit: https://www.thi.de/forschung/carissma/c-iad/ Your tasks Investigation of suitable localization methods for indoor areas Development and integration of an overall architecture for localization of test vehicles in indoor and outdoor environments Implementation and validation on prototypes in real driving tests Cooperation with project partners from industry Research and publication activities in an interdisciplinary team, if desired: PhD thesis Your profile Completed scientific university degree (master or diploma) in computer science or natural science or engineering field of study. Programming competence in at least one high-level programming language (C++, Python, Java, or similar) Knowledge in software engineering (design patterns, architecture) and localization (e.g. GNSS, UWB) Excellent German as well as good English skills Courage for visionary work and creative solutions, fun with research, prototypical implementation and working in a team The aim is to consolidate the employment in further research projects.
