Shape the future of aviation with us today and join us as: Research Scientist (m/f/d) in the Field of Electro-Chemistry or Physics: Fuel Cell Technologies, Energy and Power Systems Our challenges: Development of strategic research directions in the fields of fuel cells, hydrogen aviation and future energy technologies in search for long-term solutions to achieve climate neutrality Investigation of fundamentals and performance potentials of electro-chemical energy carrier and converter technologies for aviation, on material, cell, module and system level System analysis of fuel cell technologies, hybrid-electric and well-to-wake hydrogen systems, including ecological and economic impact assessment based on life cycle analysis (LCA) and techno-economic criteria Acquisition and implementation of projects and coordination of national and European research networks Supervision of PhD students and undergraduates Communication of advanced insights and recommendations through journal publications, conferences and media channels What to expect: International team with a high qualification level Acknowledged research institution with a long-term focus Interdisciplinary cooperation of engineers, natural and social scientists Modern working environment on the Ludwig Bölkow Campus in Taufkirchen near Munich A team-oriented working culture Flat hierarchies and short communication paths Challenging tasks Varied, creative activities Opportunities to enhance and widen competencies We need you because: You have successfully completed your studies in chemistry or physics with a PhD, and you convince with your profound understanding of fuel cells, batteries, hydrogen as well as material technologies for electrochemical energy systems You bring scientific creativity in combination with quantitative analytical and programming skills to the team You are familiar with sustainability aspects of renewable energy technologies and you have proven that you can work your way into new topics Ideally you are already familiar with LCA and/or cost analysis You are passionate about giving scientific answers to introducing renewable energy and fuels in aviation You are interested in multidisciplinary, target-oriented tasks within joint academic or industry projects You are proficient in German and English What we offer: Attractive salary package according to the public tariff system plus performance-oriented compensation Company pension schemes Professional training (in-house and/or external seminars) Work-life balance due to flexible working hours and home office option Subsidised canteen and modern internal cafeteria Occupational Health Management Company sports (gymnastics, football, running group) Car park and good accessibility by public transport The position is to be filled immediately and initially fixed-term.
