Hybrid Wheat Breeder (m­­/­­f­­/­­d)

Support us as a Hybrid Wheat Breeder based in Gatersleben and be responsible for the development and selection of hybrids to support the further development of the best hybrid parental lines for the German and Polish market. In your new position, you are responsible for the development and implementation of the hybrid selection strategy and the development of heterotic pools for the winter wheat hybrid breeding program in Germany in close collaboration with the breeder of the parental lines and hybrid wheat breeders in France and Ukraine. You define hybrid production plans, entry lists, testing strategies and genotyping requirements to ensure adequate data collection and support the further development of high quality parental lines that meet the commercial requirements of the target regions (Germany and Poland). In close cooperation with the lead breeder, you support the commercial phase of hybrid breeding for the German-Polish program. In addition, you are responsible for the management of agronomists, technicians and temporary staff to complete the breeding work on time and within budget. Last but not least, you are involved in administrative tasks by ensuring compliance with EHS, QMS and stewardship guidelines and quality standards.
